BAD FRENCH TUNNEL DESIGN BLAMED FOR DI'S DEMISE

PARIS: The Frumious Bandersnatch has learned from an exclusive source that the true cause of Princess Di's untimely death was not the paparazzi chasing her and Dodi, nor the allegedly drunk and speeding driver.

The single most significant causal factor was the design of the tunnel in which the crash occurred.

"Any ediot can tell ze Mercedes heet a post head-on," noted Marcel Mousse, chief of bridges and tunnels for Marselles. "Ze problem was ze post was in ze tunnel."

"In most cities tunnels have solid walls between ze opposing lanes in a tunnel, thus had the Mercedes hit ze side, it would have bounced off," Mousse added.

The lawyer for the designer of the Paris tunnel promptly held a press conference and blamed Di's death on the failure of the French government to require German cars to have back seatbelts that automatically buckled passengers in place.

More on this developing story when more scapegoats are discovered.
